Almost a 100 people attended this event, which purpose it was to raise awareness of Fair Trade in South Korea. Simultaneous translation (Korean/ English) was offered to those who were in need of it, to guarantee that everything related to this important subject was understood right. The seminar began with the opening remarks of Mr. Jee, Dong Hoon, Co-President of the Europe-Korea Foundation. Mr. Jee addressed EKF's sincere care and support for spreading the notion of Fairtrade in Korea. Mr. Yu ji-eun, vice president from Korean International Cooperation Agency, the main sponsor of the seminar, gave an opening remarks.Then, H.E. Ambassador Brian McDonald of the European Union Delegation to Korea explained EU perspectives towards Fairtrade in his welcoming speech. In order to have the right set up, international speakers were invited to this event. The speakers included Mrs. Johnna Phillips of the Fairtrade Labeling Organization (FLO) Germany; Mr. & Mrs. Smith from the International Market Development and Investment (MDI) Vietnam, Mr. NGUYEN Tuyet Minh from Laos and Ms. Kaori Nakajima of FLO Japan. Those experts answered all upcoming questions on fair-trade extensively and patiently. The Seminar’s duration was set at 3 hours and ended after the Q&A session with satisfied faces, as all questions had been answered.
